    Product Information

    • Bonded, black (# 56033) nylon thread on a 4-Oz spool with about 1,500 yards. This is a Size 69 / Tex 70 / Govt. E thread made by American and Efird.
    • Size 69 / Tex 70  is a middleweight thread and our most popular size. It is the largest size that works well with most home sewing machines, and uses a 100 / 16 or 110 / 18 sewing machine needle.
    • Typical uses for this size include: athletic mats, athletic padding, auto interiors and upholstery, bags, banners, barber and dentist chairs, beading, blankets, book covers, bookbinding, cat collars and leashes coasters, corn hole bags curtains and drapes (residential), dog collars and leashes, garments such as windbreakers, gloves, hair weaving, horse blankets, jewelry, leather (lightweight and middleweight), luggage, military gear, moccasins, outdoor gear, purses and handbags, sandbags, tarpaulins, tents, upholstery, vests, watch straps, webbing and more.
    • Nylon thread has superior strength and resists aging, chemicals, mildew, and abrasion. It starts to yellow at 300F and melts at 500F.
    • Consider polyester thread when prolonged outdoor use is expected. It looks and sews like nylon, but has better UV resistance.
    • If heat and fire retardance are important our fire retardant Nomex, Kevlar, and PTFE and Yellow Kevlar threads are better choices. They decompose at 700F to 800F and do not melt.
