Black Kevlar yarn is Kevlar that has  not been twisted into a thread. It looks like thread that is having a bad hair day. It is easy to separate the yarn into about 30 very strong, hair-thin strands that are invisible from the stage. This makes it ideal for illusions where objects appear to be suspended in mid-air. A 2 Oz spool has about 750 yards.
