    30-Weight thread is heavier than 40-Weight thread and requires a 90 / 14 or 100 / 16 needle. Because of its bulk it iss ideal for embroidering large areas like numbers on football jerseys. It is also great for monogramming, decorative quilting, top-stitching, filling stitches of satin and as bobbin thread.
